Port Pass Applications
The Port Authority’s Credentialing Office administers port passes for all users in the Prince Rupert gateway. All port pass applications are submitted through the Online Port Pass Application System. Please contact your employer to obtain the required Facility Access Code for online application submission. Submitted applications will be reviewed by the Credentialing Office for approval.
New employers should contact the Credentialing Office at credentialing@rupertport.com for details on the registration process.
Transportation Security Clearance (TSC) applications are submitted online through Transport Canada’s application system. Please contact your employer for additional information on the TSC application process.
Dangerous Goods Permit
Please complete and submit the Dangerous Goods Permit Application.
Dive Permit
The Port Authorities Operations Regulations authorize the Port of Prince Rupert to restrict and control diving operations within the port to ensure the safety of all divers and to prevent diving operations from interfering with terminal operations or the free passage of nautical traffic. Diving may commence only when this “Diving Permit” is completed in its entirety. PSOC will forward approved permits to Marine Communications and Traffic Services (MCTS).
Application to Hold a Marine Event
All marine events may only commence when this “Application to Hold a Marine Event” is completed in its entirety and emailed to the Harbour Master’s office via the Port Security Operations Centre (PSOC) (psoc@rupertport.com). All portions of the Permit must be completed and each question on the sheet must be answered in the affirmative.
Hot Work Permit
All Hot Work may only commence when this “Welding and Hot Work Permit” is completed in its entirety and emailed to the Harbour Master’s office via the Port Security Operations Centre (PSOC) (psoc@rupertport.com). All portions of the Permit must be completed and each question on the sheet must be answered in the affirmative.
Green Wave Vessel Incentive Application
Vessels can qualify for one of three tier levels above the base rate based on environmental performance. These tiers are based on level
of commitment towards aspects such as reducing air emissions and pollutants, using more energy efficient technology, and
participating in the marine sustainability organizations and initiatives that are being rapidly adopted worldwide.
Bunkering Checklist
No vessel exceeding 50 metres LOA shall bunker or refuel within Prince Rupert’s harbour unless prior written approval has been obtained from the Port Authority and the Fuel Transfer Safety Checklist completed. The loading of bunkers and bulk oils is only permitted alongside a berth or, if this is not possible, at an inner harbour anchorage.
